TOPIC 1 - The problem you plan to solve with AI (BY TSANG DA XIN - TP071168)

 


The problem I would love to solve is transportation. As we all know, more and more cars are available each year which causes more traffic jams, accidents, air/noise pollution, and more drawbacks. To minimize these issues, here are the following solutions that can be applied.

First, AI can be used to optimize traffic jams by analyzing traffic patterns, and then provide users with the most efficient routes for travel. It considers factors such as traffic conditions, weather, road closures and real-time data to minimize individual travel time and fuel consumption. The next benefit is predictive maintenance, AI can be utilzed to predict equipment failures and analyze sensor data from vehicles and infrastructure. These algorithms can identify potential issues before they even occur . Thus reduce any downtime and improve overall safety.

As I have noticed, sometimes the estimated time displayed that the bus would arrive in APU  is not accurate. Thus, AI can be implemented as it can predict demand and adjust schedules in real-time, this will lead to the system displaying an accurate estimated time that the bus would arrive. Next issue is the parking in APU (for both outdoor and indoor) , sometimes cars would take turn to find parking and would cause jam over there. This would lead to students missing their class and wastage of fuel consumption. Thus is more effective to have AI-powered systems that help drivers to find available parking spaces quickly, and reduce traffic congestion and emissions associated with circling for parking.

Last but not least, AI technologies can be applied in the logistics/e-commerce industry as they can monitor and manage the fleets of vehicles for logistics, delivery, and transportation services. It helps to optimize vehicle routing, scheduling, and load balancing to improve efficiency and reduce any additional operating costs

All in all, AI technologies can be applied in various sectors such as healthcare, education, finance, cybersecurity, agriculture, and more. The main goal is to leverage AI technologies effectively and make promising decision-making.
